The early life development stages of sleepy cod, Oxyeleotris lineolatus were observed and characterized. At indoor temperature of 28~29℃, embryonic development of sleepy cod covered 70 hours and passed through eight phases: fertilized egg, cleavage stage, blastula stage, gastrulae stage, nerve embryonic stage, organ formation stage, muscle effect stage and pre-hatching stage. When the yolk sac disappeared, it was developed from the embryo to the pre-larva.
