  • Horizontal starch gel electrophoresis was used to investigate the genetic diversity of a cultured Platichthys stellatus stock. Only PGM* locus was polymorphic among fifteen loci which were examined from nine enzymes while the most common allele was less than or equal to 0.99. The proportion of polymorphic loci was 6.67%, the mean observed heterozygosity was 0.0089, and the mean expected heterozygosity was 0.0303. The average effective number of alleles was 1.0557.
