Study on species composition, quantity distribution and biodiversity of intertidal benthos in Daya Bay

  • The characteristics of species composition, quantity distribution and biodiversity of intertidal benthos in Daya Bay of South China Sea were analyzed in this paper. The results indicated that there were 150 species belonged 70 families, species of Molluscs and Crustacea are the most which comprised 80% of all species, and some are the commercial species with high value. The average biomass and density were 1 954.26 g·m-2 and 1 003.77 ind·m-2, respectively. The molluscs were the first in biomass and density of the benthos. The value of Shannon-Weaner index (J) was 1.419 to 3.562, average was 2.663, which was the middle level.
