  • This paper analyzed the status of biology and resources of hairtail Trichiurus haumela(Forskal) based on the data obtained from the research project "Study on the ecological capacity of fishery resources and capture fishery management in Fujian sea area" in 2000~2002. It is pointed out that the biological characteristic of resource degradation for hairtail was revealed in three fishing grounds. The protection measure on different fishing grounds was suggested based on the results of biological and resources of hairtail analyzed.
