Application of sodium carboxymethylcellulose coating in preservation of razor clam

  • To study the preservation effect of sodium carboxymethylcellulose coating on razor clam (Sinonovacula constricta), we stored the samples at 5 ℃ for 7 d and observed their freshness, survival, water evaporation and hanging glue amount. The results show that the survival of the perseverated razor clam with CMC solution is 100%, while that of the control is 60%. Besides, coating treatment can inhibit water evaporation and preserve razor clam significantly.
