Elementary study on evaluation of CO2 emissions from aquaculture in China

  • Based on the 2008 survey data and relevant statistics of Chinese aquaculture energy consumption and energy-saving technology, we adopted the calculating method of CO2 emissions proposed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory to evaluate and analyze the CO2 emissions from aquaculture in China. The total CO2 emissions from aquaculture reach 9.886 million tons, accounting for 0.17% of the national emissions, and the emission intensity is 0.235 kgUSD-1, being 0.4 times as much as CO2 emission intensity in GDPof USA.
