Determination of dissolved oxygen in water by static injection chemiluminescence

  • A static injection chemiluminescence was developed to measure thedissolved oxygen (DO) of water based on the chemiluminescence reaction of Luminol with Iodine in buffer medium. This method had been proved to be sensitive but consuming smaller amounts of chemicals than conventional ones. It showed that the DO was detected linearly within the concentration range of 0.20~15.00 mgL-1. The relative standard deviation (n=10) was 2.76% for 0.20 mgL-1 DO. The recoveries of Iodine were between 95% and 105%. The results indicated that this methodcould be used to determine DO in water.
