Replacement of fish meal by fermented soybean meal and crystal amino acid in diets for hybrid tilapia

  • Soybean meal (SBM), fermented soybean meal (FSBM) and crystalline amino acid (CAA) replaced 5% fish meal (FM) in hybrid tilapia (Oreoehromis niloticus ♀O.aureus ♂) practical diets. After feeding nine weeks (initial weight 9.410.05 g), weight gain ratio (WGR, %), special growth ratio (SGR, %), feeding efficiency (FE, %) and protein efficiency ratio (PER, %) were determined, and the liver and blood plasma were analysed in order to compare the non-specific immunity and growth condition effected by different diets. The result showed that the FSBM+CAA group was significantly higher than other groups in WGR and SGR. The FM group was significantly higher than other groups in FE. Different diets had no significant effect on PER, liver condition, blood plasma or survival.
