Abstract:
Sousa chinensis belongs to the genus
Sousa, which is one of the most important protected animals at national level. To study the characteristics of the skeleton of
S.chinensis, an
S.chinensis that died on the seashore in Yangjiang in February 2009 was treated with several steps to make a bone specimen, and the bone data were measured and studied by correlated statistical analysis. The results show that the mass of the thoracic vertebra has obvious quadratic function relationship with the height and the length (
R2=0.919 2;
R2=0.840 5). Power function relationship exists between the quality of caudal vertebra and the height, length and width (
R2=0.955;
R2=0.928 6;
R2=0.866 4). The power function can fit the mathematical relation between the mass of V type bone and the maximum height, maximum thickness and maximum width (
R2=0.950 3;
R2=0.917 4;
R2=0.89).
