Abstract:
To investigate the effects of Vitamin E and
Schizochytrium sp. on the spermatophore regeneration in
Penaeus monodon, we designed four different contents of Vitamin E and
Schizochytrium sp. in the basal diet (control group; V
E 200; 1%
Schizochytrium sp.; V
E 200+1%
Schizochytrium sp.) to feed mature male
P.monodon which had been extruded spermatophore for 40 d. The results show that the percentage of viable spermatozoa added in 200 mg·kg
–1 Vitamin E diet group was significantly higher than that in the control group (
P<0.05). The sperm quantity of single added in 1%
Schizochytrium sp. diet group was not significantly different with control group (
P>0.05). The total number of spermatozoa fed with 200 mg·kg
–1 of Vitamin E and 1%
Schizochytrium sp. was significantly higher than that of the control group (
P<0.05). According to the spermatophore quality, sperm quantity and living sperm percentage, adding 200 mg·kg
–1 of Vitamin E and 1%
Schizochytrium sp. in feed can promote the spermatophore regeneration in the male
P.monodon and improve the sperm quantity effectively.
