Abstract:
Sipunculus nudus is an important economic animal for its high edible and medicinal value. The wild resources of
S.nudus were quickly decreasing due to overfishing, so its breeding needs improvement. Most studies of
S.nudus have focused on aspects such as breeding, nutrition and medical value. The cultivation scale of
S.nudus is likely to be increased based on the successful breeding technology; however, the methods of production and culture technology of
S.nudus in ponds still need further studies. The paper summarizes the studies on taxonomic, aquaculture ecology, breeding, nutrition and aquaculture techniques of
S.nudus, so as to promote the aquaculture industry and developmental research of
S.nudus.
