The noble scallop
Chlamys nobilis, a warm water marine bivalve, is nutrient-rich, delicious and succulent. It grows fast and yields well, having short culture circle and good economic returns. The paper reviews the achievement in the culture of
C.
nobilis, including reproductive development, growth, artificial seedling, genetic breeding as well as development and application of genetic markers. The problems in its artificial breeding and culture are also analyzed; the ideas and strategies for future development are put forward.
