Abstract:
We studied the effect of hypoxic stress above suffocation point on fish organs and tissues. After acute (0 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h) and chronic (14 d) hypoxic stress at room temperature, the gills histology of golden pompano (
Trachinotus ovatus) with body weight of (32.84±3.99) g was analyzed. The golden pompano gill lamellae epithelium swelled under acute hypoxia, epithelium of gill lamellae separated from the gill lamellae and respiratory surface increased under chronic hypoxia. The result indicates that hypoxia stress affects golden pompano gills greatly, and the impact of chronic hypoxia stress is greater than acute hypoxia stress.
