Abstract: Based on the 2008 survey data and relevant statistics of Chinese aquaculture energy consumption and energy-saving technology, we adopted the calculating method of CO₂ emissions proposed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory to evaluate and analyze the CO₂ emissions from aquaculture in China. The total CO₂ emissions from aquaculture reach 9.886 million tons, accounting for 0.17% of the national emissions, and the emission intensity is 0.235 kg · ＄USD^-1, being 0.4 times as much as CO₂ emission intensity in GDP of USA.
